More Photoshop CS6 Beta Resources

In my last post, I presented a video of a few of my favorite CS6 Beta features so far.  Since I need to focus on my upcoming creativeLIVE Lightroom workshop (watch it free next week online!)  and on my next video series, Lightroom's Output Modules,  rather than produce a whole series of "What's new in Photoshop [...]

My Favorite New Photoshop CS6 Features

Update: the official release of Photoshop CS6 turned out to be the same as the beta, so this article and the video are relevant to the official release as well. In this video, I show you the features that have most caught my attention so far in the Photoshop CS6 Beta: The content-aware patch tool feature [...]

What is that Exclamation Mark Below My Photo in Lightroom 4? If, When, and How to Upgrade to the New Process Version

If you have upgraded to Lightroom 4, when you look at photos in the Develop module that you had in a  previous version of Lightroom, you will see an exclamation point in the bottom right: This is a signal to you that the photo is continuing to use your settings from the old (pre-Lightroom 4) processing [...]

Lightroom 4.0 Known Issues

Some users -- but not all users -- have been having issues with Lightroom 4.  Victoria Bampton, a.k.a. The Lightroom Queen, has written an excellent post on known Lightroom 4 issues, so I will refer you to it. Should you upgrade despite these issues, or wait?  I would suggest that it depends.  Read through the list [...]

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4: The Fundamentals & Beyond — Available Now!

I was on Amazon last night, looking to see what is out for Lightroom 4 training, and couldn't help but notice that there is almost nothing!  The biggest authors are releasing books -- in April and May. I just thought I would point out that my video series, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4: The Fundamentals & Beyond [...]

Lightroom 4 Upgrade Issues with Tone Curve Adjustments

Some users have experienced issues when upgrading from Lightroom 3 to Lightroom 4. In certain situations, Lightroom 4 is automatically flattening out users' Lightroom 3 Tone Curve point curve work, even if the photos are left in the old (2010) process version. If you are a point curve user and haven't upgraded yet, I would suggest [...]

Adobe Releases Lightroom 4 with Dramatically Lower Pricing!

Adobe announced tonight the official release of Lightroom 4. The biggest news is the pricing — the full version lists for $149, and the upgrade and student/teacher additions are $79 (compared to $299/$199 for Lightroom 3!)  This will open up Lightroom to a much broader market, and make the upgrade decision an easier one. For me, [...]

Adobe Photoshop Touch Video Demonstration

Here's a great video by Terry White demonstrating the new Adobe Photoshop Touch app for iPad and Android devices.  It really is Photoshop -- though not with complete functionality, of course.  But if you are a Photoshop user, you will be happy to see layers, blending modes, refine edge, and more. I love how you can [...]
