Adobe announced today that the next versions of Lightroom Classic CC and Photoshop CC will not be supported on Windows 8.1, Windows 10 v1511 and v1607, and on macOS 10.11 (El Capitan). To enjoy the latest versions, Windows users will need to have Windows 7 64-bit or update to at least Windows 10 version 1703, and Mac users will need to update to at least Mac OS 10.12 (Sierra).
You can check what operating system you have from within Lightroom: Go to Help>System Info.
If you plan to stay with one of these unsupported operating systems, you’ll still be able to run the versions of Lightroom Classic CC and Photoshop CC that you’re using today.
The cloud-based Lightroom CC currently is supported on Windows 10 v1511 and later, and on macOS 10.11 and later. There was no announcement of a change in this for the next version.
In case you’re wondering, the answer is NO – Adobe did not say when the next versions of Lightroom and Photoshop will be released!
