Jill Levenhagen Lightroom Print TemplateThose of you that follow this blog regularly know that I love the Custom Package functionality in Lightroom’s Print module. With this, we can create free-form layouts of multiple photos, and add a bit of text or a logo. You may also know that I don’t emphasize templates and presets in my teaching, because I like to focus on teaching users how to create looks or designs from scratch. However, templates in the output modules and presets in the Develop module can be a great way to save time, and to draw on the creativity and knowledge of others.

If you haven’t heard, Jill Levenhagen offers over 100 nicely designed Print module templates for free!  These are sized for screen-based sharing (social media, website, email, etc), rather than printing, but if you know how to size your output in the Print module, you can size them for print as well. You can use the templates as they are, or you can use them as a starting point and modify background color, photo placement, or any other design element. Here are a few examples:

Check out all of Jill’s Lightroom Print templates on her website, and sign up for her newsletter to get updates.  When you are ready to download one, be careful not to accidentally click on any of the sponsor links in the right sidebar or at the bottom – Google Ads is very good at trying to fool you with graphics that say “Download” and “Free Templates”!  If in doubt check to see if you are still on Jill’s website.

While the templates will save you work and time, you still need to understand the basics of the Print module, and the Custom Package portion in particular. Jill has some instructions on her site for using the templates. I would suggest also watching my 14 minute video on making layouts with the Custom Package in Lightroom.

If you enjoy Jill’s templates, but get tired of downloading them individually,  and/or you want to her recoup her financial and time investment in this ongoing project, you can purchase all of them for $60.

Thank you for your generous contribution to the Lightroom community, Jill!
