Goals

I strive to provide you with the highest quality digital training in a patient and supportive environment. Allow me to help you to develop:

  • the skills to work confidently in Lightroom and Photoshop to make your images strong
  • a streamlined and efficient workflow that will get you away from the computer and out doing what you love or working to build your business.

What to Expect in a Workshop

I understand that people learn in different ways and at different paces. During my workshops you work hands-on through the images as I demonstrate for you, there are supporting written materials (either handouts or a recommended text book), you are free to record the audio portion of the workshop, and practice time is set aside in class for you to apply the concepts taught. Practice time is critical -- not only does it reinforce concepts, but it allows you to get stuck while we are there to help you learn how to get unstuck. My independent workshops are limited to 12 participants.

PC or Mac laptops are required for my independent workshops. If you do not have one, you can rent one locally and download free 30 day trial versions of Lightroom and/or Photoshop at www.adobe.com. Laptops are required in some PCNW and RMSP workshops -- check the class information on their websites for more information.

I enjoy working with students of all experience levels, including those who do not feel confident working with computers and software -- I draw tremendous satisfaction from helping people get past this so that they can enjoy the world of digital imaging as much as I do. For my workshops I do require that you be computer literate. If you are not comfortable with opening, closing and minimizing software, navigating with a mouse, using Windows Explorer or the Mac Finder to access files and folders, and other basic tasks, consider arranging a private session with me to get up to speed before the workshop.
