Seattle Workshops: Location and Logistics

Workshops are held at the The Hampton Inn, at 700 5th Avenue North in Seattle, just north-east of Seattle Center. (It is called the Hampton Inn Seattle Downtown, but be warned, it is not downtown!) Free parking is available at the hotel. Click the image below to go to the hotel website.

The workshop is limited to 12 students. (Printing with Lightroom is limited to 6.)

Coffee and tea will be provided.

Workshops run from 9 am to 5 pm. Plan to arrive early, so that your laptop is set up and you are ready to go by 9 am.

For those participating in multi-weekend workshops, optional homework will be given in between weekends. You will be able to contact me if you have questions with the homework during that time.

Software and Hardware Information

PC or Mac laptops are required. If you do not have one, you can rent one locally and download free 30 day trial versions of Lightroom and/or Photoshop at www.adobe.com. If you have trouble locating a rental, contact me and I will work with you to find one.

For the best workshop experience, be sure that your laptop is up to the task of running Lightroom. Click here for Adobe's recommended minimum system requirements.

Before the workshop, install Lightroom 2 and/or Photoshop CS4 (depending on the workshop) on your laptop, and open the program to make sure it functions and that you have gotten past all the product verification and registration steps.

It is best to have your software is up-to-date with the latest upgrade before class begins. With your laptop connected to the internet, and the software open, go to Help>Check for Updates, and follow any instructions.

Cancellation Policy

Student cancellation up to 9 days before the start of a workshop (by Thursday of the week before a Saturday start): full refund. Student cancellation 8 or fewer days in advance: no refund.

Instructor reserves right to cancel workshops up to 8 days in advance. Should this happen, full refunds will be granted.
